Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy
Gourmet Food is committed to providing safe and healthy working environments and the systems and processes to facilitate this outcome for all people working within our operations or potentially affected by our activities and products
We will achieve this within every area and geographical location of our business by:
- Putting the health, safety and wellbeing of our people first
- Sharing this policy with all team members, contractors and external visitors whilst actively engaging them in its ongoing and effective application
- Planning for positive health, safety and wellbeing outcomes and providing adequate support and resources to our people with measurable objectives, targets and safety performance indicators
- Providing safe workplaces and operations through systematically identifying, assessing and eliminating hazards, or where elimination is not reasonably practicable, minimising risks to as low as reasonably practicable
- Providing and implementing health, safety and wellbeing related systems, procedures, information, instruction, training and supervision that are appropriate given the nature and scale of our operation, work undertaken and the associated hazards and risks
- Communicating effectively and ensuring that team members and other relevant people are adequately consulted in relation to matters affecting their health, safety and wellbeing
- Working in a positive environment where people are not afraid to report errors, mistakes, near misses and incidents, and one which includes fair, effective discipline for wilful and reckless safety breaches
- Ensuring that we systematically identify, report, investigate and appropriately address opportunities to continually improve our work environments, products and systems
- Provide and support mental and physical health and wellbeing initiatives
- Keeping adequate records relating to worker and key stakeholder health, safety and wellbeing
- Complying with all our legal obligations, and delivering appropriate risk-based application of the relevant industry standards, guidelines and best practice principles; and
- Having effective control, assurance, review and audit processes in place
It is the duty of every team member, contractor, supplier and visitor to support the provision of a Safe and Healthy work environment in which people feel that their opinion is valued and that the business demonstrates the appropriate level of care.
